First Post - Intro

Hello,  My name is David.  I am a 25 year old that has a dream to restore a 1967 Ford Mustang.  This was the car that my dad owned when he was growing up but had to get rid of when the kids came along.

After a few months of reading and looking I decided on a Coupe with a 302 V8(from a later model car, unknown year at this time), manual tranny, and lots of work to be done.  I got the blessing of my future wife Lydia and worked with the local seller for delivery.  (The wedding is this sept and I'm super excited)

I have included a few pictures of what the car looked like the day I got it.  I have done a little work since then and will post that next.

The title of the blog really says it all.  I did some minor work on cars growing up; oil changes, minor troubleshooting, belts, starters, and some other small electrical work.  When I moved out of my parents house I only had the basic toolkit.  I have added some tools since then but my toolbox is still lacking many thing needed for auto repair.  So in comes the "?" at end of the title.  Is the ability to read a shop manual and buying tools along the way enough to get me through the project?  I guess we will find out.

My end goal is a working mustang.   Nothing fancy, not a show car.. but something I can take pride in and take my hottie wife around town in.
